La antigua Bilbilis, patria del poeta Marcial, es hoy Calatayud, capital de una floreciente comarca que viene a coincidir con los límites de su antigua comunidad medieval.
El río Jalón la atraviesa por completo y junto a sus pequeños afluentes el Piedra, el Mesa, el Ribota, el Aranda, el Isuela, el Manubles y el Jiloca conforma una rica serie de fértiles vegas fruteras separadas por montes de largos perfiles.
En sus proximidades se dan cita el Monasterio de Piedra, y balnearios afamados como los de Jaraba, Alhama de Aragón o Paracuellos de Jiloca.
Calatayud posee un rico conjunto del legado Mudéjar.
Para que la visita no puede faltar la Iglesia de San Juan el Real en cuyo prebisterio se guarda un excepcional sitial de tres asientos.
