The municipality is located to the SW. from Zaragoza capital, it is accessed from it by road N-330 (current Mudejar highway), and turn off to the NW. from Daroca by local road, at the foot of the Santa Cruz mountain.
It is 100 km from Zaragoza, 28 km from Calatayud, 17 km from Daroca, 25 km from the Gallocanta Lagoon, 35 km from the Monasterio de Piedra, 39 km from Aguallueve de Anento.
"Atea was Village until 1711 and Place in 1785. As a Village, it belonged to the Community of Calatayud.
Later it was Sesma from Río Jiloca, Sobrecullida de Calatayud (1488-1495) and Vereda de Calatayud (1646) and then Corregimiento de Daroca (1713 -1722), to be again bilbilitano (Corregimiento de Calatayud 1785-1833).
He currently has his own City Hall, he had it already in 1834, belonging to the judicial party of Daroca."
