The municipality is located to the SW. from the province of Zaragoza, you can access from the capital by road N-330, by detour, shortly before Daroca, to the local road in the direction of Nombrevilla, on the border of the province with Teruel.
Anento preserves medieval town planning. Of great interest is the Gothic altarpiece of the church of San Blas, one of the most important in Aragon. In the upper part of the town is the hermitage of Santa Barbara, further up, on the mountain, the 14th century castle, and, on the other side of the valley, the Celtiberian tower of San Cristobal.
A must-see is its famous Aguallueve, a natural site in which the water that filters through the limestone leaves a peculiar vegetation rich in mosses and ferns.
San Blas and Santa Águeda, February 3 and 5; and the Virgin and San Roque, August 15 and 16.
Anento celebrates the winter holidays in honor of Santa Águeda and San Blas (February 3, 4 and 5), and the summer holidays, dedicated to the Virgin and San Roque (August 15 and 16).
For Santa Águeda and San Blas, according to tradition, cakes, muffins, biscuits, mantecados, mustachones, scallops, cakes and other delicacies are kneaded in the oven. The Saints are given a roscón and taken out in procession.
In the past, when the population of Anento was more numerous, the married people were in charge of organizing these parties, and the Saints were raffled among the families of the town to carry them in the procession.
For San Roque and the Virgin it is these images that take to the streets.
The most anticipated acts were the donkey races, in which riders rode backwards; "entalegados" races, similar to those of sacks but with greater complication; and the "pedrestes" races where the boys, in the absence of sport pants, ran in underpants and the public threw them water to cool off.
