Place of 205 inhabitants, belonging to the municipality of La Sotonera, in the region of Huesca and located at the foot of the Sierra Caballera. It is located next to the river Riel, at 761 m altitude and 6 km away from Bolea, head of the municipality.
By the N-240, deviating to the 15 of Km of Huesca by the district 1206 to the height of Esquedas; after 8 km more of the route and having passed Bolea, we took a small local road northwards. We can also arrive by the same road N-240 going through Ayerbe.
The parochial church is of Latin cross plan, of a ship and polygonal apse. It is covered with a vault of lunettes, and the transept, with a blind dome on pendentives. Then came the consequent expansion works, which modified the primitive structure. These reforms date back to the 18th century. The bell tower stands slender, and is also of later time.
In the nearby sierra we will find the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Peña, hanging in a natural shelter offered by the walls. Formed by several buildings around a small church of the thirteenth century, with additions and modifications in the seventeenth and eighteenth.
An almost magical corner from which you can see an impressive panoramic view of the cereal fields, the villages that make up the Hoya de Huesca and up to the High Five Towns.
