El puente sobre el Ebro, construido en 1982, ha sido y es el alma de Novillas.
Por él ha sido fácilmente posible cultivar y explotar totalmente las tierras de la margen izquierda regadas por el canal de Tauste, donde se asienta el Caserío de la Venta de Conejares o Casa de Mendívil, (hoy deshabitado), el Campo del Lugar, la Roza, Las Canteras, la Madraza y otras fincas importantes.
