S. Pedro el Viejo.
It was declared National Monument in 1886. Visitors are admitted at worship times. A pagan temple must have existed during the Roman period on the site where nowadays stands the parish church of San Pedro el Viejo. This is one of the oldest churches in Spain. It probably existed already during the Visigothic period and Christians kept their Mozarabic worship in this church after the Muslim invasion.

The foundation of the Benedictine monastery took place by the end of the 11th century. The current church is Romanesque, from the beginning of the 12th century. Here, the Aragonese king Ramiro II the Monk lived during his monastic life.
The main doorway shows the purest 12th century Romanesque style. In the inside we find three naves and a crossing, three apses and traces of paintings from the 13th century. The rich Gothic choir stalls (1506) are remarkable. The cloister (12th century) is among the most beautiful in Spanish Romanesque art. The sculptures of the Epiphany tympanum are very interesting and the capitals carvings show high artistic value as well as an appealing singularity. Along the walls we find many sepulchres from the 12th to the 14th centuries. The Aragonese kings Alfonso I el Batallador (the Fighter) and Ramiro II el Monje (the Monk) are buried here.
Apart from the monastery of San Pedro el Viejo you can visit in Huesca the Gothic Cathedral (13th-14th centuries); the Provincial Museum; San Miguel church (popularly known as Las Miguelas) with a Romanesque tower; Santa María de Fuera, Romanesque; Santo Domingo, Baroque, and San Lorenzo, Baroque.
Huesca offers the visitor all kinds of facilities and entertainment, and there are many interesting places to make excursions in the surroundings.
