The museum is situated in Huesca province capital, also known as the "Upper Aragon."

The time has consolidated in Huesca valuable artistic heritage of which is collected and cared for in this museum.

The building is of great interest because it occupies part of the old palace of the Kings of Aragon, with a chapel (room of Dona Petronilla), and stay where you place the bell episode of Huesca.
Attached to these buildings, stands the beautiful octagonal courtyard designed by F. of Artiga.

It also has a sober facade.

As a cultural center has the following collections:

a very important archaeological section,
funds medieval painting of great interest,
section of fine arts legacy Carderera,
with etchings of Goya,
other drawings and paintings.
